Study and Training Periods

 STUDY and TRAINING PERIODS

For a variety of reasons, some CIC Members can - or want to or need to - complete Study and Training more quickly than can other Members. Some Members might already possess knowledge and/or practical experience of the subjects they enrol to study with CIC; other Members start from basic principles, with no prior knowledge or experience. Some Members can devote a great deal of time to their CIC Studies; other Members can spare only a few hours a week. Some Members have a greater command of English, than do other Members. Some Members have a greater rate of progress than do others. And so on, and so on!

Therefore, the CIC Method of Teaching is UNIQUE in being so very FLEXIBLE!

COURSES & PROGRAMS (including ‘Career Progress’ and ‘Mastery of Management’)

The average time taken to complete one CIC Course or Program is 4/8 months; some Members complete more quickly, whilst other Members take longer. However, we allow Members to take, if necessary:-

up to 12 months if studying one Course/Program only
up to 15 months if studying two Courses/Programs at the same time
up to 18 months if studying three Courses/Programs at the same time
up to 21 months if studying four Courses/Programs at the same time

‘HONOURS DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

The average time taken to complete an Honours Diploma Programme is between 12 and 24 months.

BA PROGRAMMES

CIC’s unique BA Programmes are structured to take account of each applicant’s present level of existing qualifications and/or work experience. Therefore, although many people will need to proceed through both ‘Study Year One’ and ‘Study Year Two’ of a BA Programme, applicants who are considered by CIC to be suitably qualified or experienced, might be granted Study Exemption from one or more of the Core Subjects taught in a ‘Study Year’

The deion ‘Study Year’ is used as a guide only. The flexible distance-learning study method on CIC’s BA Programmes allows each individual to proceed and progress at his or her OWN pace. Some people might complete a ‘Study Year’ in less than a 12-month (one year) period; others might need to take longer. The average time taken to complete a full CIC BA Programme (all 8 Core Subjects) is 18/24 months - with shorter periods when Study Exemption is granted - but we allow Members to take longer if necessary.

Advanced Mastery of Business Management (AMBA) Programme

CIC’s special AMBA Programme is structured to take account of each applicant’s present level of existing qualifications and work experience. Therefore, although many people will need to proceed through all three ‘Study Years’, other people who are considered by CIC to be suitably qualified or experienced, may gain study exemptions from one or more Core Subjects in a ‘Study Year’

The deion ‘Study Year’ is used as a guide only. The flexible distance-learning study method of CIC’s AMBA Programme allows each individual to proceed and progress at his or her OWN pace. Some people might complete a ‘Study Year’ in less than a 12-month (one year) period; others might need to take longer. The average time taken to complete CIC’s full AMBA Programme is 15 to 24 months - with shorter periods when Study Exemption is granted - but we allow Members to take, if necessary, up to 36 months.

Notes:

1. A Member’s Study and Training Period is calculated from the date on which that Member is actually enrolled or registered by the College for a Course, Program or Programme, and will be stated on the ‘Confirmation of Membership’ documentation issued by the College and sent to the Member to retain.

2. Members who - for personal reasons - find they need to take longer than normal, and study beyond the end of the normal maximum Study and Training Period allowed, may be permitted by the College to extend the Study and Training Period. A modest ‘Extension Charge’ (currently of £30 or US$60 or Euros 50) is made for any period up to 12 months after the end of the normal Study and Training Period. The Extension Charge should be paid to the College BEFORE the end of the normal Study and Training Period.
