| Please note that there are considerable differences between:
(a) Collection and delivery by COURIER SERVICE and
(b) Despatch by REGISTERED AIRMAIL POST (see the Registered Postal Despatches section on the News Board for information.)
A COURIER SERVICE is provided by a company such as DHL or UPS or FedEx or Aramex. Such Courier companies can collect your parcel from the College’s premises and deliver it to you personally at the physical address you designate (couriers do NOT deliver to a P O Box number).
Courier Service is generally much faster than registered airmail post - perhaps taking only 3 to 5 working days; Courier Service is also generally considered to be safer for deliveries to unusual or difficult destinations - but it is more expensive than registered (or unregistered) airmail post.
ARRANGING COURIER COLLECTIONS
If you require COURIER SERVICE (using DHL or another Courier company) YOU must make arrangements with, and pay charges to, a Courier Company in your country to collect the parcel from the College’s premises in Jersey, Britain and to deliver it to you personally.
Alternatively, it may be possible for the College to arrange despatches of items such as Diplomas and Study Materials to you, or of Examination papers to your Invigilator, by DHL, so long as:
(i) YOU have paid for that service in advance**, and
(ii) you have clearly stated the PHYSICAL address to which the item should be delivered (and which is acceptable to the courier company) AND you have stated your contact telephone number (or your own email address).
Warning: CIC and DHL will refuse to take any action if the address you have given is only a P O Box Number - a physical address is needed (for example, the College’s ‘physical address’ is: College House, Leoville, St. Ouen, Jersey JE3 2DB, Britain) and if you have not stated your telephone contact number (or your own email address).
**The MINIMUM charge for CIC to arrange despatch by DHL is £80 or US$160; however, larger parcels such as full Study &Training Materials for Honours or BA Programmes may be more expensive. |
